Cleaning grout and tiles can be a real tough job but if you want to have your bathroom or kitchen looking brilliant you will want to make sure the grout is clean and the tiles are shining. A good way to achieve this is to use a commercial grout spray that is mild enough not to damage the grout but strong enough to kill bacteria and loosen any dirt before starting to brush.
Try using a good brush, especially bristled brushes will give you good results, or at least a lot better than you would see when using a cloth or sponge. To speed up cleaning put your efforts in those areas that are being used a lot more or that look dirtier. The more often you clean your tiles and grouts, the less time it will cost and the better results you will obtain. If you can avoid mildew and fungus from showing up, it is better than having to scrub to get rid of it again.
More Important Things to Remember When Cleaning Grout
If you want your grouting to remain looking great over time you will want to make sure to take the following things in mind in order to enjoy your grouting for a longer period of time. Using a disinfectant should be done on a regular basis in order to kill bacteria and mildew. You could for instance use Tilex or other commercial grout cleaner or even use bleach to make the tiles whiter.
When scrubbing the grout make sure you do not break it down. Especially older grout has a tendency to break down easily. If that happens make sure to repair it as soon as possible before bigger problems show up. The same goes of course for any broken tiles. Drying the tiles and grout and making sure there is enough ventilation in the area is also very important to avoid problems surfacing. And while you are taking care of your grouts, make sure you do not break your own body by wearing knee pads to protect your knees.
